What does the program offer?
Strong academics:
- 9 Classes based on an American University curriculum
- Classes taught by native Spanish Professors
- U.S. grading system with credits granted through Mount Saint Mary College, NY
- Faculty with outstanding credentials and experience teaching American students
- Possibility of internships for qualified students, related to their academic interests
- On-site program director
Immersion in the Spanish Language:
- All students live with Spanish families
- All classes taught in Spanish
- No-English Language Pledge
- Language exchanges (intercambios) with Spanish college students
- Film viewings at the Centro with Spanish college students
- Be part of the community—through internships for qualified students, and/or volunteer work
- Participate in other activities: dance classes, cooking classes, gym, swimming, hiking outings in the surrounding mountains
Independent or group travel opportunities:
(This program is designed to allow students the freedom to choose their travel
destinations, and whether or not they wish to travel independently or as part of a
group. We know that many students have already done some travelling previously.
For that reason, the program price does not include an excursion package, but
the program director is available to help students make their decisions regarding
travel. We can also arrange our own group trips.)
- Classes meet Monday through Thursday, allowing long weekends for travel
- One week spring break, usually in March
- Students will have one occasion with five consecutive free days, and another with four
days if they wish to use them for travel
The Centro de Estudios Hispánicos de Segovia (CEHS):
- On-Site Program Director
- Modern classrooms
- Computer lab with high-speed internet connection—unlimited access
- All of the CEHS is wireless for students who bring their own laptops
- A great place to hang out, watch a movie, meet your intercambio
- Book, DVD, CD library—free borrowing privileges

- 7. Advanced Communication
- 8. Spanish Institutions and the European Union
- 9. Photography (Not included in program price): paid directly by students on site
